Many small places make for memorable stops on road-trips. This, in effect, is a roadside park. Good for stretching your legs, snapping a few photos, or just enjoying a beautiful old steel bridge. The bridge (also listed as the Old Colorado River Bridge on google maps) spans the river just a little ways below the actual dam on lake Buchanan, and is open to foot traffic, providing some stunning views of the river and lake spillway. Added odd bonus: there’s a swing in the middle of the bridge.
The bridge is south of the existing roadway, and primary access and parking lot is on the western bank. This stop is free and open to the public.
